Ohio University was recently ranked as the #1 party school in the United States by Playboy Magazine, and once students come back from spring break, almost every weekend is filled with street fests. Losing those we love is difficult, be it a family member, friend, or our pets. For some people, the bonds they form with their pets make it too difficult to let go after their short life, which is why some owners choose to preserve them. While taxidermy of animals is widely accepted in the hunting community, pet preservation is still a taboo subject. Mark Maier and his son Sam are the owners of Thunder Bay Taxidermy in Chillicothe, Ohio. In 1993, Maier started providing pet preservation as a service to customers. Today, he is still one of a few taxidermists in the country that does pet preservation, and receives most of his clientele from out of state.  This was a group project for my advanced multimedia class.
